| Einen "sauguten" Gospelchor kündigte Organisatorin Ruth Bredow am Abend des Ostersonntags in der Kirche St.Augustin an. Zu Gast waren "Joy in belief", 21 Sängerinnen und Sänger mit Frontfrau und Chorleiterin Marina Seidel. Mit dabei auch weitere sechs Musiker an akustischen und elektrischen Gitarren, Keyboards und Schlagzeug. Seit einem Jahr erst besteht das Hofer Ensemble. Sein guter Ruf schien ihm bereits voraus geeilt. Denn im von Menschen gefüllten Kirchenschiff ging es schon etwas eng zu, als Marina Seidel zu Beginn des Konzertes die Philosophie ihrer Truppe verkündete:" Wir fühlen Jesus in uns und möchten dies musikalisch vermitteln." Was folgte war ein Feuerwerk bekannter Gospels und Spirituals, deren mitreißenden Vortrag man durchaus als beseelt bezeichnen konnte. Marina Seidel ließ ihre Soul-Stimme in den Kirchenhimmel steigen, der Chor ließ den Rhythmus-Funken auf das Publikum überspringen: " o happy day!" Rund zwei Stunden verkündeten "Joy in belief" die christliche Botschaft. Dabei zeigten auch andere Chormitglieder, dass sie zu Soloeinlagen in der Lage sind. Etwa bei den Songs " My god" und " I will follow him". Neben flotten Stücken brachte der Chor auch getragene Melodien wie das zuckersüße " Amazing grace" zum Vortrag. Und auch am Ende wenn auch nicht alle mittanzten und - sangen wie es in den Kirchengemeinden im Süden der USA üblich ist, brachten "Joy in belief" zum Osterfest viel Freude in die Herzen der Zuhörer. |
